I'm back after a short hiatus! Here is an advanced review of a new Image Comics series debuting August 9th. Created by Jordie Bellaire and Vanessa Del Rey. A small town is over run by a coven of witches, this horror series displays what I consider the best work Vanessa Del Rey has ever produced.

WWE Great Balls of Fire 2017: In Perspective (A 1-2-3 Podcast Feature)

Comic Frontline& Zone 4's 1-2-3 Podcast presents another installment of the regular written feature here on Comic Frontline: In Perspective!

Brant Fowler, co-host of the quarterly 1-2-3 Podcast breaks down and discusses each match on the card. This month, it's WWE GREAT BALLS OF FIRE, a RAW only Pay-Per-View available on the WWE Network!
------------

(NOTE: This article was written before the events of this week's episode of RAW.)

Welcome back to "In Perspective!" I think I'm going to change things up a bit going forward. This feature became a glorified recap article, and that's not what I want it to be. So I'm going back to my original premise and making this about my perspective of the matches, feuds, action and overall event. Hence "In Perspective."

If you would like me to add an audio segment to these, I've actually been contemplating it myself. Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in.

Now, without further ado, let's get on to this month's RAW only Pay-Per-View, WWE GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!

 ***SPOILERS***.

KICK-OFF SHOW: CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP:
NEVILLE vs. AKIRA TOZAWA

Before I even get into the match, I have to address the release of Austin Aries. He seems happy, and I'm gathering it's something he wanted. I just think it's a complete waste of his talent keeping him in the Cruiserweight division. Missed opportunities, WWE.

Back to this match, I don't think there was any question who was going to win. Neville has been riding high with no real competition aside from Aries, who is now gone. The Powah of Tozawa just wasn't up to the Neville Level. See what I did there?

What I did like about this match was the fact that we have a stable. It's a small stable of lower card superstars, but it's still a stable. They finally found the perfect use for Titus O'Neil. It reminds me of the Heenan Family, only on a MUCH smaller scale, talent and status wise. It's not a faction like Evolution or the Horsemen because they're not connected. I like where this is going, and the boost it has given Tozawa and Crews, who would both just have vanished by now sadly. And may still. But it's fun while it's here.

This match was a solid match between two talented competitors. But I'm not sold on Tozawa and this match did nothing to really help that. And maybe that's why it was on the pre-show.

WINNER BY : NEVILLE (Retains Championship)

BRAY WYATT vs. SETH ROLLINS

These two have been battling each other since they stepped foot on the main roster. The Shield vs. the Wyatt Family is where it began, and they are still at each other's throats all these years later as the biggest stars from each of their factions. While I haven't really enjoyed the broken record Wyatt has become, I still enjoy his in-ring performances, and this was classic Bray.

Rollins was at the top of his form, giving Bray as much as he got, but in the end, Bray was able to hit the Sister Abigail for the win after a well-placed thumb to the eye.

This is a feud that will definitely continue past this match. Nothing was solved. They both put it all out on the line, but there was nothing really to gain but momentum over the other. There's no real end game here, so while the feud is fun to watch because they bring out the best in each other, it's really a pointless feud. Unless they take it to another level, introduce a title, or make it very personal. Then we can step into grudge match territory. And that may be where this is headed. We know Rollins won't settle for being one-upped by Wyatt.

WINNER BY PINFALL: BRAY WYATT

ENZO AMORE vs. BIG CASS

First off, Enzo on the mic was, as usual, amazing! Better than ever with his Frank Sinatra comparisons. He made you believe he could actually give Cass a run for his money. And then the match happened.

This match was honestly a joke for poor Enzo. Aside from a couple of small flurries, he had no offense whatsoever and was completely owned by Cass.

I have to say that I HATE this feud! WWE is notorious for breaking up tag teams. They just can't be happy with a tag team division. Somewhere down the line, teams will break up. And I get that Vince likes big guys, and I get that every superstar's dream is to be the champ. But come on, when you have a duo as golden as Enzo & Cass you don't break them up! You have Cass become champ with Enzo at his side. It was predictable and disappointing, and quite frankly embarrassing to go this route. Not to mention this completely buried Enzo who may find himself challenging Neville for the Cruiserweight title... and failing. Waste of potential.

WINNER BY PINFALL: BIG CASS

TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: 30-MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH
SHEAMUS & CESARO vs. THE HARDY BOYZ

I've talked about in previous articles how I'm not the biggest fan of Sheamus and Cesaro, but I am enjoying this feud. It's a long-running feud that has seen these teams go from friends to enemies and compete in various specialty matches. This being the first ever Tag-Team Iron Man Match where the winning team is the team with the most falls furthers that point.

This match came with unexpected happenings from the bell. Sheamus Brogue Kicked Matt to gain their first fall right off the bat. And they kept the lead for most of the match. The Hardys managed to even the score for a few minutes, but then Sheamus & Cesaro pulled out one more with too little time on the clock to do anything about it.

Both teams pulled out all the stops. Every finisher, every double-team move, every kind of exchange and counter you could think of. They were all innovative, creative and entertaining. This was a fantastic tag-team match regardless of who won. Sheamus & Cesaro won me over a bit, and the fact that the Hardys keep losing either means they win big soon or maybe they go through a little transformation... DELETE!

WINNERS BY MOST FALLS: SHEAMUS & CESARO (Retain Championships)

RAW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP: ALEXA BLISS vs. SASHA BANKS

I love both of these women. Seriously, I think right now these two are the best the WWE has to offer. And they pair up very well. The fact this ended in a no-contest just heightens the excitement of them squaring off again.

While I really like Alexa as a heel, I think either of these two could play face or heel. But she is the perfect villain. She's entitled, selfish, throws a fit, cheats, runs away, and she's very skilled and dominant in the ring.

Sasha is just the best there is in the women's division wrestling wise. Heck, she's better than a lot of the guys. She's got it. She worked hard to get it, but she's got it. And she belongs right at the top.

This was another very good match and it was fun to watch these two beat the crap out of each other. And while we had seen the double-jointed trick before (don't believe the announcers), it was still a sight to see.

Whatever the outcome would have been for this match I would have been happy. The aftermath of the match up by the stage with Banks leaping off the announce table onto Bliss proves my point.

WINNER BY COUNT-OUT: SASHA BANKS (ALEXA BLISS Retains Championship)

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONS: THE MIZ vs. DEAN AMBROSE

Can this feud be over now? Or at least for now? I love long-running feuds that are built up over years and many altercations and circumstances bringing two guys back together. Steamboat and Flair, Hogan and Macho Man, Cena and Orton, etc. They work. Miz and Ambrose work too. But it's too much too soon, you know? I'm ready for something new so that I'm excited when these two cross paths again. But I don't think this is ending anytime soon.

The Miztourage cost Ambrose here as could be expected. I like Axel, Dallas though just doesn't seem to fit to me, but whatever. Either way, that's the only way this could have gone without Rhyno and Slater running down. Ambrose put up one heck of a fight leading up to that point though.

AMBULANCE MATCH: BRAUN STROWMAN vs. ROMAN REIGNS

On paper, this feud looks boring. I know Vince McMahon likes to pit big guys against each other. It's Andre and Hogan, Andre and Studd, Hogan and Bundy, so on and so forth. It's an old school mentality that, in today's landscape, usually fizzles out. But this feud for whatever reason works.

The thing is, even though Strowman is the heel and Roman is the face, the crowd would tell you different. And the fact that both of these guys are young, agile and super strong makes it all the more exciting.

This match was probably their best outing to date. Each of them took charge during the match. There was one point where Roman was nailing Strowman with chair shot after chair shot, but Strowman shook them off and took the fight back to him. There were big and meaningful spots in this match that just furthered the feud and made this a long-term grudge match, or rather continued that nature of this feud that was already set in motion. These two will repeatedly cross paths. And if you go back in time to when Strowman was introduced as a new member of the Wyatt Family, their feud really started there. It's beautiful and continuous storytelling like that that sells matches the most.

While Roman lost the match by spearing himself into the ambulance, he got the last blow. Many are calling it attempted murder, but we've seen these kinds of spots before. Strowman in the back of the ambulance, and Roman runs it into another vehicle smashing it with Strowman inside.

I'll give credit where credit is do. Calling an impromptu filler match and bringing in the Fire Department with the jaws of life made this feel epic. Braun then refusing help, crawling out of the ambulance bleeding all over the place, making it to his feet and storming off made him look incredible, unbeatable. This match did exactly what it needed to for him and for this feud.

WINNER BY AMBULANCE: BRAUN STROWMAN

KURT HAWKINS vs. HEATH SLATER

While dealing with the carnage backstage left from the ambulance match, Kurt Angle supposedly sent these two out for an impromptu match to fill time. It was nicely done, and both pulled it off well. Hawkins came out pulling down his loose shirt, without his usual gimmick, and Heath came out still wrapping his wrist with tape before chucking it off camera.

The match itself we didn't really see much of. The beginning was shown, then we went backstage with the ambulance as Heath disposed of Hawkins.

WINNER BY PINFALL: HEATH SLATER

UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP: BROCK LESNAR vs. SAMOA JOE

This was a dream match for me. The Beast vs. The Samoan Submission Machine. And the match honestly lived up to the hype. I was honestly afraid given Samoa Joe isn't a home grown talent that he would be buried here, but he took it to Lesnar before and during the match. He rocked him, had him reeling, and put him down more than once. He almost had Lesnar's number. Almost. And then out of nowhere, an F5.

While I'm not happy with the outcome, this match did a lot to make both Lesnar and Joe strong. Yes, Lesnar got beat up most of the match, but he also took Joe to Suplex City multiple times, and pulled out the victory against the overwhelming odds. Joe, on the other hand, took The Beast to school and made sure he'd remember his name. Though he lost, he could have easily won and Lesnar knows that.

It's rare that a main event lives up to hype as big as this match had. This was Wrestlemania level excitement and these two should and hopefully will fight again.

WINNER BY PINFALL: BROCK LESNAR (Retains Championship)

I have to say that this was one of the most all-in-all enjoyable PPV events in recent memory. I think they have really stepped up their game and are delivering great action with compelling stories and just the right amount of drama, intensity and humor. There wasn't one match I felt like I could have done without except the Enzo & Cass match, but that was more for the lunacy of breaking them up in the first place. Silly name for a PPV, but a fantastic payoff. Loved it.

The one complaint I do have is that not one single title changed hands. That took just a little of the buzz out of this one. There should have been at least one title change in my opinion. It reset nothing in that way. But it's really a nitpick.

Marvel Unveils Creative Teams & Solicitations For 2 More Marvel Legacy Titles!

This fall, a new day will shine on the Marvel Universe with your favorite heroes, your favorite creators…where every story is an event! The last few weeks Marvel has been revealing more information on Marvel Legacy and now they announce the following creative teams and information for two Legacy titles, SPIRITS OF VENGEANCE and U.S.AVENGERS.

Gischler says that the Marvel Legacy series, aims to preserve the “vibe” of the original, but the overall feel of the comic is “mostly looking forward, not back,” with a hefty dose of awesome. Part of that move forward involves focusing on a different central cast. Instead of an all-Ghost Rider lineup, the main characters in the new Spirits of Vengeance include Daimon Hellstrom, Satana, and Blade–the Daywalker himself–alongside original Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze. Gischler also teased the appearance of characters that readers haven’t seen before: “There’s a particular character I’ve invented for this book and I’m dying to see what David has come up with for the character’s look. And it’s the sort of character that needs to be in a book like this.” Plus, he hinted, “who knows who we might see in the future?”

    CANNONBALL RUN
We we already know about U.S.Avengers in the coming months is that part of the action will revolve around finding the missing Sam Guthrie, A.K.A. Cannoball, who, like Roberto DaCosta, is a former New Mutant.
“As for Sam’s heart, I think in this upcoming story we’re going to get a good look at it. He ends up in a situation that calls for a lot of compassion and character, so we’ll really get to see the best of him at work.”
     — Al Ewing

“They can expect some HYDRA-smashing action, a major upending of the status quo for at least a couple of characters, a brand new Supreme Leader of A.I.M., a quest to the depths of space, a mysterious American suburb that’s a million light years from Earth, the terrible secret of Bugface Brown… and much, much more. It’s going to be a fun ride for all our readers.”

    Bravo's Weekly Anime Lineup #41

The Summer Anime Season is upon us! We will be introduced to more shows and continue the wonderful ones that started already! As always make sure you're caught up, and we'll get right into it!

    July 4th, Tuesday:

    Koi To Uso:

This is going to be really cool. This first episode was amazing. This is going to be a very interesting and unique romance drama show. Basically in this show couples are chosen by the government to fight the falling birth rate and it's the norm in Japan now. Love that isn't chosen by the government is forbidden. It has a very interesting social commentary bend, because it makes you wonder how it would work if Japan actually did this. What if one person in the couple is abusive towards their partner? What if one of them dies prematurely. Is it moral and ethical to do this, even if the kids come out stronger and smarter? What would happen to the LGBT community? Would there be underground gay dating or something? These are just a few things that popped into my mind.

The main guy is adorable. Already they make him a sympathetic character that is easy to feel for. The other girl is cute to. The way they met and fell in love may seem mundane, but sometimes that's just how it works. It's used to show how true love is spontaneous and natural. The government coming in and being friendly yet forceful and creepy is meant to show the wrongness, despite how nice it seems on the surface. The other girl doesn't seem bad, but I still am cheering for the main character and the guy he truly wants! I can't wait to see what happens next. I look forward to it, since this was amazing and very interesting.

    New Game!!:

I'm very happy about this second saga as well! I loved the first season of New Game! Getting to see another one come out makes me happy. This was just a reestablishing episode. We saw all the characters, a lot of bonding moments and a setup for a 2nd game they'll all be making together. Hence the title! We are also getting hints at new characters which I'm very excited for! Yeah I know, they said they were a small company that didn't really get new people. That's bullshit, though and you know it. This year it'll suddenly be different for the gang and I look forward to that. This was awesome. It was so nice to see everyone again and I can't wait to see what they think up next!

    July 5th, Wednesday:

    Boruto: Next Generations:

Thus the ghost saga comes to and end. We finally got to that fight and it was awesome. Maybe snake guy isn't such a bad person. I hope not he really is cool. I do wonder who his parents are, I can't really tell. It also doesn't help that I don't know Naruto very well. I should probably watch that soon, huh? Anyway I'm glad the class rep is getting a redemption arc. I actually did like her a lot. I'm glad it seems like she won't be gone. Will this incident prove to Naruto that Boruto really is more capable then everyone thought? I look forward to more, I loved this it was awesome. I wonder what'll happen next. It'll probably be peaceful for a bit, I think. Give the characters a cool down period and the like. Still definitely a good one. I look forward to seeing how life is now that the ghost thing was solved.

    Netsuzou TRap:

I'm a bit surprised! This anime is another shortie! The show itself is only 9 minutes with the opening and ending. I thought this was going to be all controversial and such. I can still see how it would be, though. I have no idea how to feel. All the characters seem cute in their own way. The animation and art is pretty nice. The whole premise is really, pardon my French, fucked up. I feel bad for the boys honestly. I don't mind that these two girls like each other at all, but it's so mean for the guys! They both love the girls they're with or at least seem to thus far! It'll be so sad if they decide to show them figuring it out. Either way this was interesting. I'm not entirely sure how I feel yet. I am interested, I think it'll be pretty good! I need more time to form a full opinion on it, though.

    Saiyuuki Reloaded Blast:

This is one of the ones I was honestly really excited for! Me and my friend Niji really enjoy this show. We watched this together today when it was released. I am pleased to tell all of you that this show didn't change much! It's exactly how you remember it but with prettier animation. This episode I will admit, was the cruelest it's ever been to a side character. The only other one I can think of that may rival this was the artist demon from way back. Still we got to see them in action. Their close to where they need to be now! The new villains look really interesting. I can't wait for more of this this was great. Welcome back into my life Sanzo party!

    July 6th, Thursday:

No anime today! I'm honestly a bit surprised I expected it. Oh well, maybe next week!

    July 7th, Friday:

    Vatican Kiseki Chousakan:

Ugh. I honestly didn't expect a lot of this series and this made me feel like I was right not to expect much. Basically it's about these priests who go to confirm and see miracles that happen around the world to prove they're from god. I'm not sure why I chose to review this one, probably because a lot of anime fans seemed to look forward to it. I'm not super into it. The characters thus far aren't very interesting. They are very stone faced. The mystery is interesting, I guess but this thing is overly religious to me. I do actually like religious themes, but this one might overdo it. A few things happened but it wasn't very interesting. The end caught my attention, creepy satanic stuff will do it and all. I guess we''ll see what happens. It seems like a mystery show with possible supernatural bends. We'll see but I'm not into it thus far.

    Ballroom e Youkoso:

This show is going to be cute. I do have a slight problem with the animation. The characters look way too stretched out to me, mostly when they're dancing. Still I do like watching it. I had no idea there was such a thing as competitive dancing, unless it was some reality show. Still seeing this should be interesting. The main boy is adorable, I hope he is able to have his dream. The show already did a good job of  making me want him to succeed. The love interest is cool as well and the veteran competitive dancers seem like they'll be cute characters as well. I think eventually I'll be able to deal with the animation if this show winds up being good. Maybe it'll be close to Yuri On Ice! I hope it will be quality wise. Go main character! Go off and become a dancer! Hopefully, that won't give your parents a bad impression of you like it would in America.

    Shingeki No Bahumut: Virgin Soul:

This is everything I hoped it would be honestly. We did get to see her home and it's lovely. It's such a sweet good place and her Mom is the sweetest person. I love her and it was so sweet how she treated Jeanne like that! It was if she was family already and I adore that. The Grandmother may have been even better! I laughed when Nina picked her up and I was so happy when she turned into a dragon. I should have thought she could do that. I was really confused when she said that she could carry them on her back, though I should have considered that. Does that mean the Mom can do it to, or does the power skip generations? The party back at home is trying to figure things out to and the king is interesting. I didn't like him, but I wonder if they'll give him a redemption arc of sorts. Only time will tell what will happen back at home! Let's hope Nina can do something good to help!

    Shoukoku no Altair:

This show is really interesting art wise! It focuses on a more Middle Eastern area. I've never seen a show like that. Plot wise it seems to roll more like a fantasy anime. I don't mind that and the setting looks really good. The art style also appeals to me as well. So far all the character are interesting and the purple haired dude is a dead ringer for one of my characters. He's also cute. The main dude is basically what I take is this shows version of a prince or king. He's going to be leader so it's up to him to save the day. I hope he does. I feel so bad for what happened to that old man! I hope the characters he meets along the way are cool as well. So far I do enjoy this! Hopefully it'll continue to be unique and cool.

    Nobunaga no Shinobi: Ise Kanegasaki-hen:

For being before such an important and possibly emotional taxing part, this was actually fun as well. I think they'll go for something nicer instead of how it actually went down historically. I still love that child she is the cutest. I'm sad to see Oichi upset and Nagamasa not wanting to fight Nobunaga is very loyal and noble. I'm surprised Nobunaga retreating came so early. I felt like he would put up more of a fight. Either way, this was good and I look forward to next week.

    July 8th, Saturday:

Boku No Hero Academia 2nd Season:

This show sadly skipped a week, but that's OK because it's back and it's gorgeous. I cannot express how proud I am of Midoriya. He went All Might! Got the muscles and everything! Probably not as bulky as all might, maybe not at full power but he did it! He can now use his power without it hurting him! I loved seeing all the other internships as well, though. I feel bad for the tiny purple dude, though. Giantess women is just using him as a maid. Still all the other training was really cute. I hope we get to see more bonding moments!

The bad guy plot, is also thickening though. We saw Hand Guy again (MISSED YOU DUDE) with the assassin guy that pretty much beat the crap out of the one guys older brother. They're obviously conspiring so they'll win the attack this time. I look forward to seeing that fight since he seems really strong. This was great and I loved it! I can't wait for more, especially on the character development angle.

    Sin: Nanatsu No Taizai:

Then we have this show. It was gone for a little while, not sure why but it's back now. I don't get why they censored the nudity when nothing sexual was happening. The censor marks were actually more distracting than the nudity would have been in this episode! Not a lot of sexual stuff happened if you ask me. It was more hard to watch, so if it was sexual I don't see how that would be hot. I think I liked Pride hurting Lucifer and her standing strong the most.

I hate that girl, honestly I'm glad Pride was punished like she deserved in the end. Lucifer is really merciful all things considered. I'm surprised by the angel, though. I wonder if they'll show how she looks. Another good scene from this one is when the sins break free and Pride babbles on about her traitorous origins and buries herself. That was good. I think this is one of the better ones from this show.

    Re:Creators:

New opening! There are 2 more fictional characters in this show! I love the first one introduced already. She is basically supposed to be a date sim/shoujo protagonist and it is perfect and beautiful. I love it to death. The way they're going to try and win is even more clever. They basically gathered all the creators together and are having them all work on what seems to be an elimination tournament. I guess they think by doing this it may defeat the bad guy, because with humans cheering them on it gives them more power. I am excited to see how that goes down for sure. This one was a setup for what happens next. I loved it regardless, though and can't wait to see what happens with it! This show really is awesome!

    Hitorijime My Hero:

The first episode of this. Yet another Shounen Ai title. Again there's still a weird age gap. The couple might be cute but that's hard for me to ignore! Why do all these shows have that and an attempted rape?! The one dude is a high school first year and the other one is a teacher! Oh well...at least there isn't any rape...yet. Again, if you ignore it the characters are interesting. I feel bad for the main boy, the no hero statement until he came is so bittersweet. The thing with the cat was really sweet as well. Hopefully, this anime won't be that gross. I do kind of like it but with the creepiness my hopes for it aren't very high at all. Oh well...at least it isn't as bad as Super Lovers is...yet.

    Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu:

I still wonder if that rare sword I love from this franchise will appear in this. I saw him on the art for awhile before this was going to be released! Was that just a lie? This one was more of a setup. A lot of it after the big fight was them talking about the things that were going on and the like. Now a ship with passengers on it may explode and they have to stop it, but not everyone knows. It's going to be cool to see a boat fight? What if the boat is falling apart while your doing it? Wouldn't that be amazing to see? I can't wait to see what happens honestly. I look forward to next week! This show is really cool, action wise especially.

    July 9th, Sunday:

    Kakegurui:

The second episode. It basically explained the way the school worked and how this whole class system based on gambling began. I think that this new girl is going to dismantle the system by working her way up, and defeating all these stuck up other girls. I loved seeing her do that, honestly all of them deserve it thus far. The blonde girl, I feel slightly sorry for, but still she needs to be taught a lesson. So it's fine if she has to deal with this a bit longer. The nail girl gave me flashbacks to Higurashi. I was scared for them a second. Maybe the main girl took it a bit far, making her cry but it seems like it's all these character's understand. I can't wait to see the next stand off, this was good.

    Fate/Apocrypha:

This is more of a set up for the battles to come. Nothing really big happened just yet. We were better introduced to the character's mostly on the black side. I love Frankenstein the most, guys. Just have to throw that out there. I looked at her and fell entirely in love. All of them are really cute, though. The relationships they have are also really nice. The dude who's supposed to observe everything was introduced and he's a cutie, I'll admit. We also had the beginning of our first battle scene, featuring Saber of course! It looks incredibly promising. I loved seeing all the bonding between members, getting to know the summoners and the people summoned as well. Everything about this show really is incredibly cool! It was a great setup for what's to come, and I loved this a lot! Fate is awesome!

    Centaur no Nayami:

What an interesting way to kick off this series. We started off with two of the main girls kissing. Huh. It was cute, though. All of them were doing a play and this is how we get introduced to everyone. I liked the way they did it, just throwing the audience in! I like all the characters so far, they're all cute. I loved learning the lore in this universe as well. My one complaint, is that the lips look a bit weird in this show, especially when they get close up. Other then that, this is going to be a cute slice of life that I look forward to for sure! Nothing can compete with Demi Chan though. Now that was good.

    Princess Principal:

Now this anime has a really interesting look to it. It has an older time setting. It's not Victorian it's a bit newer then that since they have cars. The 50's maybe? The 40's? Either way I loved it. I was so sad when the boy died, though. I thought him and the cool spy girl might bond more. It has some supernatural stuff going on as well it seems, with the sister and all. When the show gets more action centered, it looks awesome. I will admit when you look at the setting, these girls doing illegal things all while looking moe and cute, looks a bit off and out of place. Still I like this! It looks really cool and I like it. I can't wait to learn more!

    July 10th, Monday:

    Senki Zesshou Symphogear AXZ:

Yes the second episode! This is honestly one of my favorites this season. This episode told the backstory of the bad guys and showed us their weapon for the first time. She's going to be interesting when they officially show her. I wonder more about the person who seemed to be with her everywhere in all the scenes she's in. There was also Chris and her moment. This is the first time she's had to do something so drastic for everyone's safety and she's getting a taste of what she dolled out back then. It's sad to see her so sad.

I think we can all agree what really stole the show, was Maria, Shirabe and Kirika fought the bad guys, to keep them from summoning that invincible dragon. That was an awesome fight and the new songs were really great. I'm glad they were able to push the limit. They seem to be on the way to discovering a new power as well, with how Maria sparked blue for a second. When Hibiki came and punched the thing it was awesome. The reaction and how mad they were was priceless as well. I loved this episode it was awesome! I can't wait for more!

    Isekai Shokudou:

This show might be blander then I thought. Basically once a week this cafe opens up to the fantasy realm. Literally all that happened was it focused on two characters coming in, enjoying the food and a lot of comments on how amazing it was. That was it mostly. I'm surprised because I expected it more. It still had interesting characters but if that's all this show is? This show is going to be a bland thing for sure. Hopefully this is the only episode like this. That's all I got.

    Koi To Uso:

The second episode! The girl this guy is getting paired up is a tsundere, of course. Thankfully she is actually pretty nice and sweet. Not a complete annoyance like other tsundere characters. She does start to treat the main guy well which is good. He doesn't deserve to be picked on. The girl he liked before wants this to just be a memory. I think the boy asking about her about it, may be her future love  interest. A lot of attention is on him which makes me think that. I'm surprised the blonde newbie wants him to kiss her again. Has she fallen for him and hopes he'll get it out of his system? I think she may believe in his idea of love, but I'm not sure. Either way this going to be cool and I liked this.

One last thing, though. The whole arrangement and the parents right there makes me so uncomfortable! I know it's supposed to be like that but oh my god guys, could you feel that tension! The parents berating him made it even worse, it was so sad! Still I liked this a lot , it was really interesting.

    Overall:

Kickstart the Week(end) with Prometheus #1

      By: Nicole D’Andria

The legend of Prometheus continues in this new comic book series. Follow him as he journeys through the modern day, John Wick style!

In the Greek legend, the titan Prometheus stole the flame of knowledge and gave it to mortals. He was punished by the Gods, who made him suffer for eternityby having an eagle constantly tearing at his liver. This series follows Prometheus after he’s freed from his prison under mysterious circumstances. He looks to see how his gift to humanity was received, and finds our modern world, which is… far from his liking. It turns out the flame of knowledge has been stolen. So Prometheus plans on going John Wick on humanity and stealing the flame of knowledge back.

      The Eagle

Prometheus #1 is the first in a five issue mini-series. It is 23 pages long and marks the beginning of Prometheus’s journey to right what he sees as the wrongs of humanity (mainly pop culture, anti-intellectualism and classism). The mini-series is written by Ryan Little, who I previously interviewed about his two other Kickstarters, Lonesomes #1 (a collectible monster comic where the monster is drawn to the main character’s loneliness) and Monster of the Week #1 (a giant monster comic with an Adventure Time tone). The artist is Chris Shehan, who previously illustrated Heirs, a sci-fi story about analien race that came to Earth when civilization began and made the human race their slaves.

The project has a $1,500 goal that must be met by August 10, 2017 at 12:16 PM EDT. Rewards include a digital PDF ($5) or signed hard copy ($8) of Prometheus #1, plus a signed physical copy of Little’s other work, Lonesomes #1 ($14) and Monster of the Week #1 ($20). There will also be a sketch cover for Prometheus #1 ($40 for early birds and $50 for late comers). View their Kickstarter page for more details.

I’m talking with writer Ryan Little and artist Chris Shehan about how the myth of Prometheus began and how this tale will take it in an all-new direction:

      Ryan Little

Me: How does Prometheus differ in this story from the myth and who are some of the other supporting characters we can expect to see from the legend in this book?

Ryan Little: Prometheus is mostly a continuation of the Greek myth, so we'll largely be treading fresh territory. We meet Prometheus moments after he's escaped what was supposed to be his eternal prison and will then follow him on a new quest when he sees the flame of knowledge he suffered so long to give to mortal man has gone missing.

The place where I did take liberties, however, is in Prometheus' actual captivity which we'll learn about as the story progresses. In the original myth he was chained to a rock where an eagle would devour his liver. Each night the liver would grow back, then the process would repeat. In my story, however, Prometheus was locked in a pulpy, Raging Bull style boxing gym where he was forced to fight against a hulking, inhuman behemoth in an Eagle mask. This Eagle, however, would only hit him with shots to the liver, which are notoriously dangerous in boxing, until he died. Then his body would be dumped into a sauna until it regenerated and he'd be drug back into the ring again.

Me: Why did you pick this myth in particular to create a comic book about?

Little: I love finding fun, adventurous ways to dive into complicated subject matter. Prometheus is a comic about this hardened brawler who is devastated when he finds out life on Earth isn't what he thought it was going to be. I think that moment is something everyone can relate to. More importantly, I think it's something that's worth meditating on and exploring as long as you can find a way to make it palatable. Enter Prometheus.

I had been kicking around the idea of doing a modern spin on a Greek myth and realized Prometheus was a character that didn't get much attention. When I really thought about his story and how he sacrificed everything to give humanity a chance, I couldn't help but wonder what he'd think of the modern world. The idea really excited me which is why I jumped at the idea to bring him to the modern world and smash his expectations against our reality. He's physically hardened by his centuries of suffering at the hands of the gods, but nothing prepares him, just like I'm not sure anything can truly prepare us, to face our real world. His journey will pit him in plenty of battles, but more importantly it'll force him to see our world for what it is and decide how to carry on with that information. I think showing a hero of mythical proportions grappling with such a human dilemma was an opportunity too good to pass up.

      Prometheus #1 Page 1

Me: Are there any other myths you plan on making comics out of as well? Would it connect with this story?

Little: There aren't any myths per say at the moment, but my next book, which I'm also doing with the glorious Chris Shehan, is a pulpy spin on genies. I adore the idea of exploring people whose soul occupation has been fulfilling the deepest desires of their various owners for hundreds of years. Notice I say fulfilling desires and not dreams, because those things are rarely synonymous.

Me: You call this a “John Wick style fantasy revenge odyssey.” How exactly can we see John Wick reflected in this story and what about that movie inspired you to adapt it to this story?

Little: My Prometheus is a complicated hero. When I read the original myth about this titan sacrificing everything to give humanity a chance to rise up, I saw an optimist. He gave people potential! He believed in the possibility that lurks within a mortal person. Then my comic thrusts that somewhat naively idealistic person into our very flawed current world and it devastates and enrages him. He's a fractured, traumatized, grieving person, much like John Wick in the beginning of the first film. Prometheus then, also like Wick, deals with his tragedy by giving himself entirely to his quest for retribution.

      Prometheus #1 Page 2

Me: How did you find artist Chris Shehan and why did you pick him for this project in particular?

Little: I've had the script for Prometheus for about four years now, while I searched for the perfect artist. Then Chris answered a random online query for talent I posted and he came crusading into this project like a bat out of hell. From the very first bits of character design I knew he was without a doubt my dream artist. He has a style that can nail all the fierce plot moments as well as the complex character work. I thank my lucky stars every time I get pages that he dug the script enough to lend his immense talent to the book.

Me: What is the number one reason you think people should back Prometheus #1?

Little: I can honestly say this is an experience worth the price of admission. It's a completely original story which I think people will find both refreshing and engaging. More importantly, independent books come from a different process than our professional, mainstream counterparts. Each and every book I put out is my career which is why they all get every ounce of commitment I have. My full creative might is in every fight scene and character moment. I think this is a book that functions on a large adventure scale with an equally brutal and earnest character story snuck in. It's a comic that will make your knuckles white and your heart bleed.

      Prometheus #1 Page 3

Me: What inspirational words do you have for aspiring comic book writers?

Little: I think I'll refer to The Boss, Mr. Bruce Springsteen, for this once and say "you can't start a fire without a spark." Make something! It is the most glorious feeling in the world. I promise any small book you decide to make will automatically become your favorite. You don't have to light the world on fire with your first book; just finish something. Creative endeavors are like lego sets, just start putting pieces together and before you know it you'll have something big and glorious.

Me: You’ve had three Kickstarters in the past and all of them were successful. Can you offer some tips to new creators on Kickstarter trying to make a successful campaign?

Little: I attribute the majority of my success to the fact that I come to these campaigns with my books completed. It allows me to send websites like yours comp advance copies which makes it easier to build some momentum. There is more content on TV and in theaters than ever before. Better yet, there are hordes of comics coming out each and every week and a lot of them are excellent! It isn't enough to make a good book anymore. You have to make a good book that's worth people's time. That's why I finish the books ahead of time so I can get it into my backers' hands as soon as possible to thank them for their support.

      Chris Shehan

Me: Ryan mentioned you answered his online query for talent, which led to you working on Prometheus. What appealed to you about the query that made you answer it?

Chris Shehan: He said "John Wick meets 300." I said "Hell yes." But really, it sounded like a dream project for me. Everything I had worked on up until this point was in a pre-existing sandbox where other artists came before me. The thought that I'd be the character designer, interior artist, and cover artist for a whole series with a great story felt special. To be THE Prometheus artist and not just A Prometheusartist. I feel like Prometheus is as much mine as it is Ryan's.

Me: How would you describe the art style you use in Prometheus and why did you choose to use this style?

Shehan: I like to use the words "gritty" and "dark" when I describe my work. When I was in college I actually damaged a nerve in my drawing hand. My art used to be much "cleaner" and more polished, but the nerve damage made my hand shake a lot. It frustrated me until I started seeing artists with a slightly messier (grittier) style tell as great of a story with their art as anyone else. So I've been playing with my style for the last few years trying to make my nerve damage work for me. The good side is, people find and hire me for my style, rather than me having to bend my style for certain jobs.

      Prometheus #1 Page 4

Me: What was your favorite page to draw in Prometheus #1 and why?

Shehan: There's a scene where Prometheus wakes up from a really long nap. It sounds silly, but there's something about drawing human moments that I love. For me, it's where the magic is. Like those scenes where Spider-Man is on a rooftop eating a sandwich. I prefer the challenge of making people's subtle emotions feel completely real over a straight up action scene. The quiet moments are where you can really tell a story about the characters.

Me: What is the number one reason you think people should back this project on Kickstarter?

Shehan: I think a cliché answer would be "to support indie comics". So that's not my answer. Prometheus is a story for everyone. I know where the story is going and I'd be a massive fan even if I wasn't drawing the book. You'll want to be part of this, so why not be part of it from the very start? If I have a #2 reason for backing it, it's that Ryan always delivers. I've backed his other projects. He won't let you down.

Me: What inspirational words do you have for aspiring comic book artists?

Shehan: Make comics! Make them with your friends, make them yourself, find out how they're made and just make comics. Don't wait. Every page you draw is one page closer to the "dream gig". You can literally be a comic artist right now, just start. This is the best advice I've ever gotten.

Me: Thanks for your time Ryan and Chris, best of luck to Prometheus on his journey to find the flame of knowledge! If you’re reading this and want to see more of Prometheus’ journey, check out the official Kickstarter page.

Do you have a Kickstarter? Want to be interviewed about it and have the project featured on "Kickstart the Week?" Let me know in the comments below or messageme on my website.

Is DC Prepping Young Justice For A Rebirth?

Back in September Detective Comics #940 gave Tim Drake, Red Robin a dramatic exit as he was seen sacrificing himself to save Gotham City and its citizens. But the reader discovered that he wasn't dead, but instead was "taken off the board" by the enigmatic Mr. Oz. Since then I have been theorizing that Tim could return along with his best friends Superboy (Conner Kent), Kid Flash (Bart Allen), and Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark) to reform Young Justice. Lately it seems to be more likely that this could happen.

Since Detective Comics #940 we seen Tim trying to escape and recent solicitations for Detective Comics since  have indicated that Tim isn't the only one that Mr. Oz has taken off the board. The solicitations don't say who has been taken off the board by Mr. Oz, but there are a few of Tim's Young Justice teammates that haven't been seen, if we ever actually seen them at all in the New 52. Given what we know now Superboy, Kid Flash, and Wonder Girl could have just been new manifestations of the heroes we thought we knew which would explain a lot of the differences in their personalities.

      SUPERBOY
Superboy was a genetic clone of Jon Lane Kent, a possible future son of Superman and Lois Lane created by Harvest and N.O.W.H.E.R.E.Harvest came from the future and wanted revenge on Metahumans because he blamed them for the death of his son. Superboy joined up with Red Robin, Wonder Girl and Kid Flash in the Teen Titans, but was last seen "going home" with Harvest in Teen Titans Vol. 5 #12

      KID FLASH
Bart Allen was never actually seen in the New 52, or at least we were told. The Bart Allen that we thought was Kid Flash was really a criminal from the future named Bar Torr. While with the Teen Titans he met and fell in love with Solstice who when the team were transported to the future with Bar Torr for his trial killed a judge so she will be arrested too. Bar Torr returns to the past to prove Superboy is innocent then returns to the future for Solstice. Bart Allen (the real one) is immune to alterations in the time stream, so he would have known a difference in the Post-Flashpoint timeline.

      WONDER GIRL
Cassie is also a bit different in the new 52, her father isn't Zeus but the Demi-God Lennox. Cassie  started off as a thief and possesses no powers, but does wield the Silent Armor, a liquid metal that can cover her and was designed to battle Trigon. Cassie was last seen in Teen Titans Vol. 5 #24 after her and the other Teen Titans disbanded in the wake of Tim's apparent death in Detective Comics #940.

Tim was believed to have died back in September 2016, two months later in November DC announced that Young Justice Season 3 was in production, More recently we learned that Young Justice & the live action Titans will air on the unnamed DC Digital Service. Young Justice: The Outiders is the title of the 3rd season which is believed to pick up with threads left from season two.

Why is the animated series relevant to the original comic? Well in season two we saw the introduction of Tim Drake as Robin, Cassie Sandsmark as Wonder Girl, and Bart Allen as Impulse (later Kid Flash), along side of Superboy and other young heroes. With the animated series returning and these four believed to be returning in it, it isn't a stretch that DC would resurrect their fan favorite comic series.

The DCU has changed since we last seen these characters, Superboy is now Jonathan Kent, Kid Flash is now new Wally West, and the Teen Titans are now being lead by the newest Robin, Damian Wayne. This would leave with them needing new names and returning to their original team name. But it can also bring back old faces and even some new identities for them to tie into the show, like Miss Martian could return, and Cissie King-Jones could return but as Artemis, bringing in more people from the animated series into the new comic. But that is all just hope and speculation here is what we do know:

The reason why I decided to write this is because of the solicitation for DETECTIVE COMICS #967 because it says "It’s a race to save the future of Tim and his team as Red Robin tries to escape his prison outside of time and find his way back to Earth."Tim's team that implies more than just one fellow captive.
