Tonight is the annual WWE Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View event on the WWE Network. Many titles are on the line, as well as the contracts for future World Title opportunities via the men and women's ladder matches. So who do we think will come out on top? Keep reading to find out!

What began as a gimmick match during WrestleMania several years ago has since blossomed into its own annual event: Money in the Bank (MitB).

The premise of the original match featured several Superstars competing in a ladder match where a briefcase was suspended high above the ring holding within it a contract for a World Title match. The winner would climb the ladder and retrieve the briefcase, securing their title opportunity anytime, any place they so desired.

Now, every year there are two MitB ladder matches, one featuring the men, and the other featuring the woman. Typically four Superstars from both RAW and SmackDown Live for each match.

At this year's event, not only are the two contracts up for grabs in the separate ladder matches, but almost every title in the WWE is on the line! Not to mention a couple of grudge matches that will also be settled before show's end.



Headlining the event are top tier talents like Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Becky Lynch, AJ Styles, Charlotte Flair, Rey Mysterio, Roman Reigns and more!

With the event taking place just a few hours from now, it's time to get into the matches and make some predictions!

First, we have the MitB Kickoff Show, which will feature two title matches before the main show even gets started. They are the Cruiserweight Championship and the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships.

Cruiserweight Championship:Tony Nese (c) vs. Ariya Daivari (Kickoff Show)

Tony Nese hasn't held the Cruiserweight Championship for long, so an argument could be made that he has a strong chance of holding onto the title. However, that division is fast-moving by default, so seeing rapid title changes is certainly possible. Nese is really starting to make strides, so my bet's on him retaining either way. Should be a fun, fast-paced match to watch.

Prediction: Winner and still Cruiserweight Champion - Tony Nese.

SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships:
Daniel Bryan & Rowan vs. The Usos (Kickoff Show)

The fact that this match is on the Kickoff Show and not the main card may speak volumes of the outcome. The Usos are a RAW tag team now, so booking wise, it makes little sense for them to capture the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships. This seems more like a legitimacy play for Daniel Bryan and Rowan as a tag team. Taking nothing away from the Usos, either, they are THE top team right now, but Bryan is a former multiple time World Champion and Rowan is a very large beast of a man. They are taking the gold tonight.

Prediction: Winners and new SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions - Daniel Bryan & Rowan.

Then it's onto the main card. We don't know the order the matches will take place in, so take that into consideration with some of the predictions I make.

United States Championship:
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Rey Mysterio

Samoa Joe has made this personal, bringing Rey's son into the mix, threatening him, using that threat to get in Rey's head. Plus, Joe has a score to settle. Rey pinned him in record time at WrestleMania, so Joe has something to prove. Not to mention Rey makes people look good! So be it distraction, disqualification, what have you, Joe is walking away with the title.

Prediction: Win or Lose, still United States Champion - Samoa Joe.

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match:
Alexa Bliss vs. Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Dana Brooke vs. Bayley vs. Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon vs. Carmella

The whole reason this event exists is because of these contract ladder matches, and this one in particular is probably the least predictable match of the night this year. I could honestly make an argument for each and every one of these women to potentially win this match. In the end, though, I think it comes down to half the field. The two former winners, Carmella and Alexa Bliss, and two women that not so long ago were involved in a feud, Mandy Rose and Naomi. Of those four, Mandy seems to be getting a big push right now, and she's the only one of them that has yet to hold the title. Plus she'll do whatever it takes to win, including involving Sonya Deville. It will make Cory Graves very happy too!

Prediction: Winner and Miss Money in the Bank - Mandy Rose.

Brace yourself for the new CBS All Access Original Series Star Trek: Picard teaser trailer. Since it was announced at Star Trek Las Vegas last year by Sir Patrick Stewart himself,  fans have been wondering where we would find Picard and now we know thanks to the first teaser.

DC fans can expect an exciting future as the publisher revealed early details on its strategy for 2020, beginning with stories featuring tight, intertwined narratives across DC’s comic book lineup. Leading this charge into the future is Batman, the World’s Greatest Detective and a cornerstone of the DC universe.


Beginning in January 2020, DC’s ongoing BATMAN comic book, currently shipping twice-monthly, will return to a monthly schedule, allowing DC to incorporate the monthly BATMAN title into the larger DC universe and continuity. BATMAN will ship alongside a new 12-issue BATMAN/CATWOMAN series by Tom King and Clay Mann, while Bat-Family titles DETECTIVE COMICS, CATWOMAN, NIGHTWING, BATGIRL, and others will continue into 2020 with no immediate changes to their shipping schedules. 

“We’re making changes to our comic book publishing line to set DC up for continued success. We’re starting with the bestselling BATMAN comic after ‘City of Bane’ wraps up in December. ‘City of Bane’ is an incredible story and an integral part of our overall ‘Year of the Villain’ campaign, and a new Tom King and Clay Mann Bat/Cat series in 2020 fills the gap once BATMAN begins to ship monthly.”

Featuring art by Tony S. Daniel, ’City of Bane’ kicks off in BATMAN #75 on July 17th, 2019, when, after three years being broken down by Bane, Bruce Wayne falls to his lowest point. Bane’s minions have moved into Gotham City, taken control and are ruling with an iron fist…and Batman is nowhere to be found. This extra-sized anniversary issue kicks off a storyline that ties together all the threads of the first 74 issues of Tom King’s epic BATMAN run. ’City of Bane’ will run 11 issues with artwork by series regulars Daniel, Mikel Janín and Mann, concluding in December 2019 with BATMAN #85.

The Earth Kingdom is at a critical point and Team Avatar must make sure the old regime doesn't resurface. I have to admit, I have been loving the Legend of Korra books, they truly feel like a continuation of the series. I really like the way this book touches on relationships and politics without being a platform for anyone it shows a real-world representation here. My only issue with the story is that it isn't new-reader friendly if you didn't watch the series and trying to get into the world this book opens up in the middle of it. The art here is really well done and feels like the show, but just a dash more "animated" than the show itself. Tiger gives Lois all the files on Spiral while Superman figures out something about what Leviathan is up to and Leviathan recruits Guardian. Ok NOW we are getting into the meat of this arc with things starting to line up and Leviathan starting to take form. Bendis does a great job at information or evidence release, he is engaging the audience to not be a reader but to be a part of this mystery themselves. The art in Action is very solid and that goes to the consistency of the artist with Epting, and Anderson being the soul art team in this issue. The lines and colors are great, my one nit-pick is that Jimmy looks a little young here. Overall Leviathan is shaping up to be a great DC mystery/event. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

The Flash issue 71, Year One Chapter 2 The Flash of Two Timelines throws us into a future where Central City has been taken over the Turtle and his followers. After meeting up with the future version of himself and learning may be a little more and he should have, the future Flash rebuilds the Cosmic Treadmill and sends younger Barry back to his correct time. Confused with what he just saw and experienced Barry isn’t sure he should even use his power ever again but he does take the advice of his future self by accepting a date with Iris West, only to have the fall through when the Turtle attacks. 

Joshua Williamson is telling a Year One story that has hit the ground running in the first two issues and great story building using the existing Flash history and adding pieces we didn’t know we missed.  The same goes for Howard Porter as we get both great action and great storytelling through the panels.  Flash Year One is shaping up to be an awesome ride. ~ Justin @ExileState

Mr. Body is getting threatening letters so he summons his friends and associates to a gathering at his place which leads to murder. I am a big fan of mysteries, so growing up games like Clue was my favorite because they engaged me in ways other games couldn't and I wish I could same the same about this issue. The story was very basic and almost dumbed down while trying to be overly complicated. The mystery is frantic and felt like it was thrown together way too fast. The art also lowers the enjoyment here. Overall I felt like the art was more like comic strip quality as well as the story makes me believe that this should have been in a newspaper rather than a full-on comic. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

The Prophets rejected Q's offer to join the games so the next round is to get them involved. The Tiptons do a perfect job writing these characters to the point where they get their inflictions so on cue that you can hear the actors delivering the lines. I felt like I was in every briefing with these characters and a part of each team in a way that the shows themselves haven't even done. The art here keeps improving getting more and more of the characters quirks and gestures down. I love that Q was put into his place but I am torn because I feel the Prophets were too overpowered for it. Overall this is what I want on my screen, CBS, HELLO hire the Tiptons as writers on a Star Trek Series, they deliver all I want in an episode of Trek in every issue they write. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

The War of the Realms Uncanny X-Men #2 continues the siege of New York City by the combined forces of Dark Elves and Frost Giants.  The X-Men led by Cyclops have fortified a base and are saving as many people as possible when they get word of another group of mutants in the city doing the same thing.  This leads to both teams reuniting but only have Wolfsbane kidnapped by Sabertooth.  The team could really use a Wolverine right about now, just saying.  This unveils his plan to gain favor from Malekith by using Magik to teleport their army and continue the conquest.  Overall a great continuation of the first issue as it pushes through to the final issue in this mini-series.  I can’t wait to see how Matthew Rosenberg and Pere Perez wrap up this awesome side quest in the world beset by the War of the Realms.  ~ Justin @ExileState

Fox's impassioned speech to the carnival folk leading up to this point on how they should stick by Abel was great, and it culminated with this panel as Fox displays undying loyalty and labels all those who abandoned him when he needed help the most as monsters was righteous and chilling. COLD BLOOD SAMURAI #3

The Gaijin goes to a Shogun to perform Harakiri and die with honor but first, he must fight to protect the Frogs from an army of lizards. This issue takes us deeper into the world of the Samurai and Shogun, and the political climate of it all. I loved the cunning of both the lizards and the frogs and the exploration of the cultures through them. The art here oddly really fits with this world and lets me see it as an old Samurai movie. My one complaint would be the lettering, it is kind of bland and the word balloons need to be redone because there are a lot of times where words are hyphened because the can't fit on a line. On example was Em-per-or which could have fit on one line by using a different shape word balloon. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

Cheryl and Jason decide to call a truce until they take care of their brother Julian who is working his own angle using Betty. Cullen Bunn proves he is one of the best horror/thriller writers in comics today! The way this issue flows from one scene to the next, especially the flashbacks of the Blossom triplets growing up builds the suspense with each page turn. He leaves me wondering who can I trust? The art is great, especially the coloring, using the reads, my only issue with it is the three red-headed boys (Archie, Jason, and Julian) are all a bit too similar. Overall, though this is an amazing mini-series that really builds off the themes of both the current Archie book and the Riverdale show. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

Angel sets up in Sunnydale and visits an old friend who he is unable to save. Hill does a great job setting up Angel in Sunnydale and giving him a purpose beyond the Slayer. Angel's new purpose opens Angel to a new wide range of possibilities and his back story adds more layers to an already well-developed character. The art here can be pretty dark at times which goes with the tone of the book and the linework and layouts are spot on. Overall this is a nice introduction to the series and gives us an Angel who is independent of Buffy while introducing some supporting cast. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

Beyond the grid ends as the Solar Rangers face off against the Preator. Marguerite Bennett ends Beyond The Grid on a high note that sends the Rangers back to their own time while also setting up the new-new Solar Ranger team? While this issue did end things well, the main issue is how quick it seemed, it felt like everything happened all at once and Bennett didn't have enough time to truly wrap up her stories and themes. This ending left us with some characters feeling pointless. The art here continued to get better, except for the Megazord. I love the individual Zords, but combined they all seemed to fade away and it felt like a single Mecha, not a Combining Mecha. Overall this was a solid issue with a few hiccups. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

Doctor Manhattan ponders his role in the multiverse as he tampers with the DCU by altering events in Superman's life. Johns does a great job deconstructing the DC and Watchmen universes through the lenses of Superman and Doctor Manhattan and using the actor as a guidepost of the real world. Frank does his usual top-notch art here hitting just the right emotional beats. I also can't help but wonder if placing Wally West in this issue is indicative of something bigger being planned for him giving his role in Heroes In Crisis? ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

The truth is revealed and Wally must pay for what he has done. This event has been controversial and divisive amongst fans because of Wally's part in it from his "death" to his guilt fans have been up in arms. I personally loved this event, I thought for once we got a true deep psychological look at heroes, and we got things people always complain about with events. King did a great job delivering a hard outcome, one that doesn't get fixed by the end and will have a lasting effect on characters in the months to come. The true grit of PTSD and therapy along with the mystery and high stakes makes this a memorable event. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

The Enterprise comes under attack by the Tholians for Kirk granting the young Tholian they found asylum. I really thought this was a true Trek scenario. The moral dilemma is something that Star Trek is well known for, especially for TOS. It was also a nice moment to learn more about Kirk's past and damn was I not happy to hear the Star Trek Enterprise shout out with Mayweather! The art here is just fantastic, giving us just the right likeness of the characters. This is shaping up to be my favorite season of TOS already. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

The final battle between Kraven and Spider-Man. This story hit a lot of the beats you would expect from a Spider-Man Kraven story. While that is positive, it is also negative because I just feel like I read this before, it seems like a cut and pastes from various Kraven stories of the past to make a new one today. No that doesn't take from the way Spidery and Kraven are so well written. The art here I felt was off, especially with the end with Kraven in the Spider Suit, his son can't tell that Spider-Man is at least twice the size as he was a few moments ago? No, because apparently Kraven's Spider suit is like super spanks and makes him twice as small. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate

The War of The Realms comes to Yancy Street, so Yancy Street comes at The War of The Realms! This was a really strong issue, it picked up some of the family drama from the previous arc, which I loved, and it set up somethings for future issues. What I loved the most was how Slott used Franklin here, showing why he has been such a little snot, because he is afraid he will lose his family. What didn't work for me was forcing in the event tie-in. The art was pretty solid here, giving it that family vibe and truly capturing a block party feel. ~ Jay @ComicBookTheate
